The high point of Gettysburg '96 for 42nd member Susan McElroy was meeting Patrick Gorman, who played Confederate General John Bell Hood in the movie Gettysburg. As did many of the actors in the film, Gorman developed a real fondness for the character he portrayed and has been a regular attendee at Gettysburg reenactments ever since.
